Words Matter – Mental Health Challenge

CIPHER created the Words Matter campaign to share and promote a collective understanding of many well-known and used mental health terms that describe various occupationally related challenges many public safety personnel (PSP), healthcare workers (HCWs), veterans, and their families face every day.

Glossary 3.0 Launch

We’re happy to announce the launch of the Glossary of Mental Health Terms, version 3! Glossary 3 represents the most up-to-date, collaborative efforts to try to help bridge the gaps between the work of mental health professionals and the first responders and other public safety personnel who may be seeking their services.

Words Matter – Holiday Edition: Healthcare Professionals and Public Safety Personnel

Healthcare workers and public safety personnel often experience the holiday season differently than other people. Accidents, injuries, and illnesses don’t stop for the holidays, so neither do they. Often, the services provided by these workers actually increase in demand during the winter holiday season, making them far too busy to enjoy a time of year typically filled with celebrations and rest. If you find yourself struggling this holiday season, or want to prevent those feelings before they start, please check out the attached resources. CIPHER cares about those who serve us, and we want to thank these workers for working so hard to keep Canadians safe and healthy during this season.

Words Matter – Friends and Family Holiday Edition

The winter holiday season can often look very different for families with members who work as first responders or in other public safety positions. These positions are often unpredictable and working shift work can mean absences from family celebrations. For resources that can help you navigate these unique challenges, please visit the PSPNET Families Wellbeing Hub.
For Families of PSP
From all of us at the CIPHER team, we wish you and your family a warm, safe, and happy holiday season!
